Feel like going hiking, walking and relaxing in the world of the Obertauern mountains? Or do you simply want to escape the heat or make a stopover on your journey over the Tauern pass? Our apartments are also available in the summer! Those who want to escape the rush of everyday life and the hustle and bustle of the city will find rest and relaxation here.
In doing so, experience the dreamlike world of the Obertauern mountains on one of the numerous hiking paths of the Radstädter Tauern (more than 100km). Obertauern lies directly on the Tauern high route and is therefore the ideal starting point. Of course there are also many quaint huts and pastures just waiting to be discovered. We will gladly help you plan your walks and routes!
From the beginning of June until the beginning of September the Grünwaldkopfbahn is also in operation. The mountain station of the Grünwaldkopfbahn is therefore the perfect starting point for hiking around the Grünwaldsee, to the Hochalm, to the Krumschnabelsee or to the Seekarspitze.

Would you like to find basic provisions for breakfast already in your fridge on your arrival? We will gladly do the shopping for you. We have compiled a list of food that we can send to you by mail a few days in advance.
The following restaurants (Freiwild, Steinbock, Hotel Steiner) and cafes (Binggl) are just a few minutes walk away from our apartment building.
If the weather isn’t going too well one day ...
You can swim, sauna and relax in Hotel Steiner (Obertauern) or in Hotel Lürzerhof. The “Therme Amade” in Altenmarkt is just a 25 minute drive away.
Hikers pay attention! New in Obertauern, Untertauern and Tweng, the “at the top” bus ticket. You can travel comfortably with the hiking bus between Mauterndorf and Filzmoos. Adults Euro 1.00 per journey, kids Euro 0.50 per journey (6-15 years old). So you can hike simply and cheaply in one direction and get the bus comfortably for the return journey. Timetables can be found at www.postbus.at and are valid from 27 May to 30 September 2012.
The Salzburger Land Card offers you an extensive and varied range of leisure time facilities, with which you have free entry to over 190 sights and attractions in the whole of the Salzburg state. Lakes and public baths, mountain trains, castles and palaces, nature experiences, museums, mini golf courses, and much more are all all-inclusive. The 24-hour SalzburgCard included also offers free entry for 24 hours to all the sights of the city of Salzburg.
